Brian E. Young: Illustration and Design Resume

I am Brian E. Young, a seasoned graphic designer with over 21 years of experience delivering value-driven, marketing-focused, and human-centered design. My goal is to turn compassion into communication, connecting with clients and transforming their ideas into custom illustrations that resonate with their target audience.

I have worked with international companies such as Amazon Web Services and NASA, contributing my expertise in human-centered design and creative project management. I connect with clients to schedule deadlines, hire photographers, art direct photo shoots, engage with vendors, supervise production timelines, and oversee budgets. This hands-on approach ensures that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with exceptional results.

I am an award-winning visual journalist, taking first place in editorial and advertising design awards from the Maryland, Delaware, and DC Press Association; Parenting Publications of America; and Suburban Newspapers of America. My work has been recognized for its exceptional design and editorial impact, making me a trusted and creative addition to any project.

In addition to my professional work, I am passionate about giving back to my community. I have served as a part-time Marketing Associate for the Baltimore Improv Group and as a writer for my WordPress blog, Uncanny Creativity, where I share my insights on creative productivity and design thinking.

My expertise extends to creating eye-catching and impactful visual content, not just in static graphics but also in motion graphics. I have a passion for turning complex ideas into compelling animations that captivate and engage audiences.

I am currently a graphic designer at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, where I bring my passion for design and commitment to making a positive impact to the protection and restoration of the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed.
